Promises – A song about empty promises

Everybody has that particular friend or acquaintance who wants to keep deadlines, bring stuff back, or become a better person. But these people never learn. Shall we go along with them, or is it better to walk away? “Promises” is a pop rock song about a relationship with someone who is not able to keep his*her promises.

My sketch on “Promises” has been nothing but a simple chord progression. I did not think too much about it, but stranded in modal songwriting (once again). We spent half a year to structure this song and to write melodies and lyrics. Jason recorded guitars and bass, brought in a fresh solo and wrote the lyrics together with Kelly, who also sung this song. You can hear me on the organ this time. “Promises” will be part of my 4th studio album that will be released in some months. I can’t name a date yet, but I’m busy arranging and mixing songs. So, if you want to download this song in good quality, you should wait a bit.
