No Time For Blues
Our song “No Time For Blues” is about a person that is hard-working and broke. The lyrics have an interesting double entendre, as blues are both the music genre and another word for gloom. This song is part of my album”Quarterlife Blues”.
I’ve got not time to relax
No time for fun
Time is staring at me
Down the barrel of its gun
No time to tie laces,
I’ve got slip on shoes
And worst of all
I’ve got no time for blues
I got no time for blues
No time to be amused
Nor even to watch the TV news
No time to pay my dues
I’m the king of excuses
I got no time – it’s such a crime
No time for blues
I got letters to send
I got bills to pay
I have less time to myself
Every single day
I work so many hours
It’s a wonder I don’t drop
I don’t know if these demands
Are ever gonna stop
All of my friends
Are in the same boat
Doesn’t seem to matter
Who gets your vote
We’re working for peanuts
We can’t make ends meet
If things don’t look up soon
We’ll be out on the street
Look at that guy
In his fancy car
He has no idea
How hard things are
When you’re working for a wage
But sinking deeper into debt
When I think of the future
I break out in a cold sweat
I got no time for blues
No time to be amused
Nor even to watch the TV news
No time to pay my dues
I’m the king of excuses
I got no time – it’s such a crime
No time for blues
