“Calling To Me” – An eerie pop song

Winter is coming. It’s time for some dark and haunting songs. With that in mind, Michael Karns and I decided to upload our latest collab, “Calling To Me”. It is available on YouTube and SoundCloud.

The background story for this song is quite interesting, as it developed out of a songwriting challenge. It inspired me to try dark and disharmonic in 6/8 signature. “Calling To Me” has that eerie quality of a haunted house. Somebody, or maybe just a distant thought, asking for help within a dark and desperate place of loneliness and discomfort. I am happy that Michael jumped into this atmosphere and created sparse lyrics that explain a lot, and nothing at once. The distance between the lines, the irregularities, haunting yet beautiful.
